Denmark will reinforce support for Ukraine by providing satellite imagery and secure communications through the European Defence Agency (EDA).

The aim is to ensure strategic means for Ukraine’s national defense during the war against Russia. The agreement includes access to satellite communication terminals, though specific models were not disclosed for security reasons.

Denmark’s Defense Minister, Troels Lund Poulsen, emphasized the growing importance of space in defense policy and stated that space solutions have great potential to protect not only Ukraine but also Denmark and Europe. He stressed that, in collaboration with the EDA, the country is committed to strengthening Ukraine’s satellite communication capabilities.

It is expected that other European Union countries will join the initiative. According to the Danish government, this contribution expands Ukraine’s and Europe’s strategic technological freedom in space.

Recently, Portugal also announced a similar assistance package worth USD 24.88 million, supporting the Ukrainian Air Force and providing satellite intelligence.
